At RA-S, we’re excited to share our vision for the Sandgate Street project – a transformation that’s particularly close to our hearts. We’ve been given the opportunity to reimagine an old depot and turn it into something truly special: a vibrant space filled with welfare facilities, offices, and breakout areas, all designed to foster collaboration and well-being for Southwark’s workforce.

When we first approached this project, we knew we wanted to create more than just functional offices. Our goal was to design an environment where people feel valued and energized, a space that promotes both productivity and connection.

• Welfare Facilities: The well-being of Southwark’s team is at the heart of this project. We’ve carefully designed modern welfare facilities, including showers and comfortable rest areas, ensuring that staff have everything they need to feel supported throughout the day.

• Flexible Office Spaces: We wanted the office spaces to be flexible and dynamic, catering to a range of working styles. Whether it’s focused individual work or collaborative team sessions, the new design will provide an inviting space for both. Natural light, ergonomic furniture, and thoughtful layouts will help everyone feel at home while working.

• Breakout Spaces: A key part of this project was creating breakout areas where people can relax, chat, or recharge. These spaces are designed to feel warm and welcoming, with soft seating and communal areas that naturally encourage conversations and a sense of community.

• Fostering Collaboration and Well-Being: The entire space has been designed with people in mind. We’re focused on creating an environment that not only encourages collaboration but also prioritizes well-being. By bringing in natural elements and ensuring the space feels light and open, we hope to create a place where the workforce will genuinely enjoy spending time.

I’m incredibly proud of this project and the positive impact we believe it will have on Southwark’s team. It’s about more than just converting a depot – it’s about creating a space that enhances the everyday experience, fosters creativity, and brings people together. We can’t wait to see it come to life!
